Trainer Surprise Wants to Fight! by ParadigmPizza Trainer Surprise Wants to Fight! by ParadigmPizza
I figured :iconwilldrawforfood1: would be getting a TON of surprise telling him happy birthday and other similar stuff, so I did something a bit different.(Wanna crank up the awesome to eleven? Listen to this. You're welcome.)

I guess this can also be a bit of a thank you for watching me. I never thought I would get the attention of someone like you so early into drawing ponies. Needless to say, it gave me a massive boost in my confidence. both in current ability and in prospects for improvement.

I should probably stop talking. I'm turning this into a much bigger deal then it really is.

Now would probably be a good time to wish you a happy birthday, so happy birthday Will!

Somebody should hack Pokémon Heart Gold or Soul Silver and make a battle like this!

Surprise: Venusaur, Blastoise, Charizard, Driftblim, Clefable, and Pidgeot.

Pinkie Pie: Empoleon, Infernape, Torterra, shiny Driftblim, Wigglytuff, Feraligatr, Ditto, Kacheek, and Cutemon. (Why she has 7 Pokčmon, a Digimon, and a Neopet? Simple, she breaks the fourth wall and is not afraid of anything! Actually, this is just her fave team, but at her full potential, she can have 13 Pokčmon, 6 Digimon, 4 Neopets, 1 Dalek, 5 Bakugan, 7 Beyblades, and 8 Yu-Gi-Oh cards. She just decides not to.)

Nice parallel. Red was the predecessor to Gold, but both are largely blank slate characters for the player to project onto and so in a way the same person. Surprise was the prototype for Pinkie pie, as such the share everything in character design save color/race/name and so are functionally the same pony.

tecnically surprise is a Pony from G1, not just a base for pinkie pie

True, but in the context of this picture it's her status as precursor to Pinkie Pie during the development of FiM that is more relevant.

ahahaha, thats actualy the main reason I drew this in the first place! I was thinking about how I could tie pokemon and surprise together for Will's gift, and thought of this comparison. Glad to see that other people are catching on.

Red was a pain in the ass. And he had a lv 81 Pikachu with an insanely high Sp. Att. (of course he lasts just one or two blows). You needed a lot of level grinding to beat him. But you know, it's worth it.

I ment the trainer Red, who the white pony is.

See ,in soulsilver, his pokemon are change to lv 80+ and not only am I finding him difficult to beat, but I can't found a good place to train up at :/

I'm playing White as well, but I'm only at the 3rd gym so I still got a long way.

Of course I tried there, but just the first two trainers pokemon are now around my pokemon levels, making the last two and lance's pokemon be at higher levels then mine.

I could try training through wild pokemon but I don't have the patients nor time to do so.

Yeah, I had a similar problem, I honestly don't remember what the heck I did.
But I guess MT. Silver Wild Pokémon and some Trainer re-matches can help reach enough levels to start beating the league.

Oh, that's right, I think I did just that. I actually defeated Lance between 6-8 levels below his Pokémon. But it WAS damn hard :noes:

My red Gyarados did the job pretty well. Ice Fang'd his Salamence, switched to Ampharos for his Gyarados (he usually Dragon Dances at first anyway), and then kept Ice Fanging his dragons, and Waterfall'd his Charizard.
The previous members are the ones that ACTUALLY caused me more problems. Lance is all dragons. Meh, pretty lame. He should chill out a little.
Got it? chill out! Like, with ice! for his dragons!!
...I need some sleep O.o

I don't mind trainer rematches, but they hardly call me. D:
Guess I'll have to put some effort in to training around Mt. silver, good thing its the easter weekend. (No work! :D)

Yeah, Lance wasn't that bad to defeat, Feraligatr's Ice fang worked great on his dragonites but they were left in the red after one hit.
Might replace it with Ice beam since thats more powerful.

Also, you have the weekend to sleep as much as you want XD

All the weekend??
--:iconbigmacnopeplz:, ponies--

Well, you can call them instead from time to time. They mostly won't rematch, but once in a while I call everyone in my Phone Card to see who wants to battle again.

Also, watch your Feraligatr's Sp. Atk. too, not just your Move's base power, and look how much it varies from his Attack. I have never trained one, but if it has more or similar Sp. Atk, then Ice Beam is the best option. But if the Sp. Atk. is lower than it's Attack, consider how much defenses your opponents have in both Physical and Special, and then choose if you really want to replace Ice Fang with Ice Beam. It may end worse if you have less Sp. Atk. and your opponent have higher Sp. Def.
Just a friendly suggestion ^^

Didn't think so. And I don't think the Elements of Harmony could stop them either, not even with all the Legendary Pokemon from every region.
